Boys Middle School Basketball

Starting May 20, Guam’s top middle school boys’ basketball teams will get a chance to face off for the ultimate title as the 2016 Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam-Guam Department of Education Boys’ Middle School Basketball Shoot-Out kicks off action at the St. Paul gym.

The tournament will pit the best from Guam’s public schools that play in the Guam DOE boys’ basketball league, against the best from the IIAAG boys’ basketball league, which features the top private school teams.

Leading the bunch will be the host St. Paul Christian Warriors, who come into the tournament after a season-ending 54-24 victory over the Harvest Christian Academy Eagles at the Warriors home court. The Warriors finished with a 11-0 record for the second straight year.

The Warriors had a game-high 20 points from Thelo Ochiro and 13 points from teammate Brandon Miranda.

The tournament, sponsored by Buddy’s Home Furnishings, will come to a conclusion on May 22. Teams that are interested in entering the tournament should call 929-2246 or email tinos180@gmail.com.
